Expoloring the Wilderness

I have been trying to explore more of the local area and had to force myself to head inland rather than to the seafront for once (although I did end up at the beach) and this is what I found...

Torquay Harbour

I went back to Torquay during the day for a bit of a location scout and a wander about. On my recent visit I saw a few places that I wanted to go back and see in the daylight. The white iron benches and lamps along the harbour wall are beautiful and the wooden floor offered a great contrast in texture and pattern.

It was a beautiful day so I took lots of photos (as usual)!

Glastonbury Abbey

I went to Glastonbury yesterday for a day out and to meet up with my mum for lunch. It was a lovely sunny day and we had a great time.

It was nice to wander round all of the different shops and visit the Abbey. The grounds were full of flowers, crocus, snowdrops and daffodils, it was beautiful. I have a really keen interest in archaeology, history and I absolutely love ruins and the romanticism that they offer.

Teignmouth & Shaldon

While Emma was visiting, I took her to Teignmouth and through the old smugglers tunnel to Ness Beach in Shaldon. Below are a few shots from our day out.

Orbs & Sparks

I've had a friend (Emma) to stay for the last few days so we have been out and about quite a bit. Emma is also a keen photographer so having seen a great location on a recent walk, we thought we would try something a little different...

Sparks have been something on my list of things to try for a while now and seeing as the weather and tide was good, we headed down to the beach. The technique still needs some work, but for a test shoot it went very well and I know what to expect for next time.

While we were there, we took the opportunity to do a few light orbs as well...

Torquay by Night

Last night we went to see 'Spamalot' at the Princess Theatre in Torquay. It was a great night out and a really funny production, so if you like Monty Python, I would recommend going to see it!

Afterwards, we had a little wander round the Torquay seafront and the harbour bridge looked fantastic by night! It was like some strange portal so, I took a photo to share with you!

There were quite a few interesting things around the harbour so a visit during the day will be needed soon.

Dawlish to Dawlish Warren

We've had some nice weather lately so I have been out walking and exploring the local area a bit more.

Today, we walked along the sea wall from Dawlish to Dawlish Warren as the tide was out. It was a lovely walk and armed with my trusty camera phone, I took a lot more snaps!

Below are a few of the features that were particularly of interest. I love the walkway just behind Dawlish train station, the carved out rocks towards Dawlish Warren and the views from above them.

As much as I love my camera, it is quite liberating not to be carrying a bulky camera around with me for a change. Anyway, here are a few shots from yesterday's stroll around Dawlish...

Shaldon Sunrise

A few images from my dawn shoot at Shaldon. I had originally planned to use a slightly different location for this shoot but when we arrives, the tide was much further in than I had anticipated so chose to set up on Ness beach instead.
